The best fuel efficient 6 passenger vehicle is the 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The Highlander Hybrid gets 28 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway and can hold up to 7 passengers for a starting price of $38,000.

Goes to the 2011 Honda Odyssey minivan at 27 mpg on the highway and 18 in the city.

Most fuel efficient SUV 2011

The Chevy Traverse. This 8 passenger SUVgets 17 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway.

Actually there are two SUVs tied for the SUB with best gas mileage award…the 2011 GMC Acadia gets the same MPG, 17/24.

Another great fuel efficient SUV is the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, it gets 20 MPG city and 23 MPG highway. Of course you will pay for that better overall gas mileage by the amount of about $20,000 more than the Traverse or even the beautiful Acadia.

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is great for the family who is looking for style, comfort and capability all in one SUV. Able to sit up to 7 adults with 83.3 cu ft of cargo room makes this a large 7 passenger SUV and hard to look past the GL-Class. It also has heated power front seats, expansive legroom, multi-zone climate control and eight beverage holders, so it’s easy to see that passengers are not robbed of comfort.

The exterior features of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class include a chiseled, muscular body made from high-strength steel and polished stainless steel skid plates. Standard LED Daytime Running Lamps and taillamps is just a small piece of technology that allows you to see and be seen. The brighter, whiter beams of the Bi-Xenon headlamps swivel as you steer to better illuminate curving roadways. Power windows ensure that every passenger can enjoy the ride, but also included is a pair of sunroofs that brings everyone a view of the sun or the moon and stars. There’s an optional rear seat entertainment system that allows those in the back to watch movies, attach a portable gaming console and more. There’s also plug-ins for headsets.
